Our BOLD (Building Our Lives Drug and alcohol free) Club students will be coming to Smith on October 12th to spend time with our students at recess. They will be playing games as well as being positive role models!
TIMBER sessions continue as our Fun Run is quickly approaching. October 19th is the big day, so mark your calendars! Students will participate in our annual run/walk to the high school stadium with and inspirational guest speaker and activities on the topic of Going Places, by Peter H. Reynolds, our chosen anchor book of the month. Check out the Oakwood TIMBER facebook page for additional details and photos.

Blue Shirt Day - October 17th
October is National Bully Prevention Month. All students and staff are asked to wear a blue shirt that day to support the importance of being kind to one another. Take a stand, Oakwood, against unkind behaviors on Blue Shirt Day!

Sixth graders at Smith have the opportunity to learn instrumental music in orchestra and band. See both of these ensembles perform at our Holiday Concert on Wednesday, December 5th! Kitchen News Kids' Kitchen Council has started up again. We had so many apply that we split them into two groups - one started in Sept and the other will begin in Jan. Both groups will do the same things, just different times of the year. We can't wait to see what new items these students come up with for the menus. Thank you to all who applied!
