FROM THE PTO PRESIDENT

Hello Smith Families!

Finally spring is just around the corner! We are looking forward to a fun filled spring at Smith. We hope you will be able to join us for the upcoming programs and events. Please make sure to save the date for the Celebration of the Arts Thursday, March 21 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. I know the students, teachers and staff have been working hard on this year's program. I hope to see you there!

And what would spring be without baseball?! It's a bit further out, but please mark your calendars now for the Smith School Night at the Dragons. This year's date is Friday, May 31 at 7:00 p.m. It's a great way to celebrate the end of the school year with your Smith family. More details will be released soon, so please save the date!

Our March PTO Executive Board meeting is next Tuesday, March 12 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Library. Everyone is welcome to attend to see what your PTO is working on, and weigh in on any issues being discussed. Just a reminder there WILL NOT be a Teacher Feature this month as previously listed. Recently, the PTO formalized our grant disbursement process. If anyone would like a copy of the new process, please feel free to contact me.

Be on the lookout for news about the April PTO meeting! We have something fun in the works!

Military Kids Club!

The mission of the Military Kids Club is to provide a fun and safe place for our military kids to be encouraged, strengthened and connected to the E.D. Smith Community. The club meets about once a month during the lunch period to do fun activities and community service projects.

Our next meeting will be Friday, March 15 during the lunch period. If your child would like to attend, please have them report to the library right at 11:40 a.m. to stay for the entire lunch period. If they are buying their lunch, they can go to the cafeteria right away to get their lunch tray and bring it up to the library.
